STATUS CORRECTION: cryptostorm is NOT dead - cryptostorm.is serves the real service as of 2026-09-27, with a PGP-signed warrant canary dated July 1, 2026 (quarterly schedule), live pricing and a StatusCake uptime page. It remains the privacy maximalist's pick: anonymous hashed tokens, client- and server-side multihop, transparent .onion access, public server configs, post-quantum OpenVPN options. The costs: genuinely rough UX, zero audits, a decentralized 'who are we even suing' legal structure - and a brand-hygiene mess, with cryptostorm.org squatted by Indonesian spam and cryptostorm.net now a lookalike crypto-affiliate page.
